All Nighter in Tokyo

On Saturday, Jeff and I trained out to Tokyo to meet other Gunmanians for a baseball game that Sean had organized and got us all tickets for. Thanks, Sean! We left a bit earlier so that we could go to Harajuku and have chronic Indian for lunch. Much to our surprise, the place was closed when we got there! Boo!! Many restaurants were closed btw lunch and dinner time so we ended up at this pretentious Japanese place called Yao. We should've known we were in trouble with a restaurant under a Chinese name like that. I'm not hatin'. =) Anyway, we ordered pate which looked like mashed up cat food but tasted ok and curry which didn't leave me more satisfied than if I went to Kaldi and heated up the instant Thai curry packs. It was pretentious and expensive for what it was worth. Never again, Yao!!

It ended up raining pretty hard but luckily it stopped by the time we met up w/ the others for the baseball game. It was the Swallows (hehe) versus the um...yeah. It's interesting to be at a Japanese baseball game b/c the fans get really into it and were cheering and singing the entire time. They had like this routine, as Japanese people do, which made the cheers seemed robotic even though it was the most expression I've seen outta Japanese people the entire time I've been here. Also, instead of hot dogs and nachos, they served yakisoba, curry rice, bentos, etc. Only in Japan. They also had the girls carry these heavy-looking beer kegs on their backs as they walked around the stadium to sell beer. The kegs looked heavy and the girls looked as though they were about to tip over. If that doesn't stunt their growth, then I dunno what will.

After the baseball game (we didn't stay for the whole game), we trained to Shibuya and karaoke'd for an hour. We planned on staying out all night and catching the first train home...that being at 4:40 and 5am for some of us. After karaoke, we searched for this club called Yellow, were unsuccessful in our search, and ended up at this club called Club Asia. Should've known we were in trouble with such a name. The music was terrible...like...music that you could only dance to if you were on E but I guess it doesn't matter to Japanese ppl since all they do is jump up and down anyway. I know...I am going to hell. Anyway, there was no one good to look at and we were all bloody tired, attempting to make the most of the horrible music they played. We got out, walked around, stopped by a Starbucks that closed at 4am (that's what we need at home!) and then all trained it back home. I passed out on the entire train ride home.

The next day was shot b/c of the all-nighter, so I just slept and watched my dramas. =) I am too old to pull all-nighters it seems. I need my sleep, dammit! Hehe. Anyhoo, it was a cool day out in Tokyo and I really enjoyed the company. Yaay for all of us making it thru the night!!

Thought of the day:

I am taking soo many days off it's like I'm not even gonna be at school in the month of June!! I hope they don't mind! Well, not as though I do much anyway. Maybe they won't even notice my absence. Hehe.
