Random, Random Thoughts Before Disneyland

Okay, so it's 1:30am right now and usually this is pretty early for me except for the fact that I have to get up at 4am which is in 2 1/2 hours to catch the first train to Tokyo Disneyland. I will be on the train for about 3 hours. Omg...it will be an insane day as it is three prefectures' holiday tomorrow...meaning I'll probably see all my students there. I conveniently forgot to tell anyone at school that I will be at Disneyland though. Hmm.
I've been reminded again and again that I haven't blogged lately...meaning like everyday. It's hard to keep this up, people! Anyway, so I thought I'd just post random thoughts from this week before the 3-day weekend actually begins, since it will be crazy-as with Disneyland and the Draw Halloween Party.
Okay, let's see. Oh, yes. On Tuesday night, we all went to Ikyuu for Veronica's birthday dinner. It was soo much fun! I love getting together with my Ota family and all the others that have been adopted as well! Hehe. The food was excellent and the company was awesome. What more can you ask for? Happy Birthday, Veronica!
Other than Tuesday night, I've been a hermit at home this past week. I'm actually really enjoying ALONE time. I've been needing this for awhile. As in ALONE time, chatting online doesn't count, right? How about the phone? Um yeah, so what I mean is that I like alone time but I still need my interaction in some way. Or maybe, I just like to be a bum in my pjs at home but still talk to people? I dunno.
What else. Oh yes, school. I also avoided blogging this past week b/c I have been very bitter. I'm not sure why, but I just was. I didn't want to be a bitter blogger so I just didn't blog. Hehe. Anyway, my supervisor, Mr. Onda, came to observe one of my English classes yesterday. My JTE had planned this whole team-teaching thing with another JTE but I wasn't in the team. I don't think Mr. Onda liked that very much. Unfortunately, he also had to observe the worst class possible, the ninensei. The class was pretty much not paying attention the entire time. Sad. Mr. Onda later met up with me to talk about the problems with the classroom and talked about what the JTEs should've done. That's what they get for not including me in the lesson, bastards! Damn, I'm being a bitter blogger at the moment...stop stop.
I was in my ichinensei class today and saw one of my students with The Da Vinci Code. I told him that it was a good book and he said it was so so. I was like, "You finished it?" He said yes. If this 12 year old boy can read The Da Vinci Code, why the heck is he in the same class as the other kids who can't answer, "What did you eat for breakfast??" At second glance, I realized that the book was in Portugese. Well, I felt better. Damn, that Alan is a smart-as kid. (He's the same one that was ditching school b/c he doesn't understand Japanese.) Remember how I started question boxes in my classes? In this class today, I had one slip of paper with 6 questions on it. I found out later from my JTE that Alan had actually written 60 questions for me, but he just divided them up so that I can answer a few at a time. I was soo touched! He is such a sweet kid. Soo good...good-hearted...if you know what I mean.
What else what else. Oh, so I had to read a dialogue out loud in class today with my JTE, as I always do. Anyway, the line I was supposed to say was, "It's big." Instead (due to the influence of my Ota peeps), I said "It's sooo big!"...w/o even noticing that I not only added, but emphasized the "sooo." Hahahaha. I hate/love it when I laugh out loud and nobody understands what the heck is soo funny. In Japan, I was told that I am considered borderline retarded...I think I've mentioned this before. Haha.
Thought of the day:
My JTE told me that he bought a watch for 52,000 yen (roughly $500) at the Karuizawa Outlet last week. Wtf? I thought that Japanese teachers were supposed to make like not enough $ or something. That's like a whole month's worth of rent right there! As Jeff says, who needs the time that badly anyway?!
