OK, so for this part of the relay race, the STUDENTS get to push the teachers in these one-wheeled thingys. UMMM. Why would the teachers EVER agree to such things?! You're right if you guessed that some of the students took advantage of the situation, especially on teachers they don't particularly like! Let's just some teachers ate a bit of dirt! SAAAD.

As you can see, the peace sign is still alive and well in Japan, to say the least.


And no, that is not a prison in the background, it's our school!! =)

I really enjoyed my chuugakkou undoukai! It's amazing how much team effort is put into this day. All the competition is class-based, and not individual-based. They have relay races, team jumps (a whole class jumping rope together), team scavenger hunts, folk dancing (by grade-level), Kizaki Ondo (a traditional Japanese dance in which I also participated in and failed miserably), etc, etc. Even the disruptive kids in class got really pumped on that day, as it is their chance to show off their athletic ability! It was just such a fun day!! We should have undoukai in the States!!
